The Basics

People

The Hood Kitchen Space is owned and operated by local personal chefs Shelby Coffman and Christie Frazier. Named to the "Most Influential" list by the OC Register in 2015, Shelby and Christie's passion for food, community and incubating local businesses has grown even stronger since The Hood opened four years ago.

Shelby and Christie's past experience running a successful food business in Orange County drove them to build The Hood Kitchen Space. Frustrated by the lack of clean, safe and reliable commercial kitchens, they decided to build their own own, and in the process discovered an underground community of food artisans—from bakers to restauranteurs to catering companies—who needed a permitted kitchen.

The Hood Kitchen Space now proudly provides the growing Orange County culinary community with the professional space they need to produce great food, be a part of and contribute to the local food scene—and make their dreams come true.

Shelby and Christie are thrilled that their commercial kitchen space is helping many start-up food businesses break into the industry. With 5,400 square feet of space, state-of-the-art equipment, professional standards, sustainable food practices and an unwavering commitment to the client experience, The Hood has a solution for every food professional's needs.

But don't just take our word for it. Take a look at the over 200 food businesses currently cooking at The Hood, with roughly 50 regular clients using the space several times a month.
